Tips for Beginner RVers

RV trips can be a fun way to get away for a while and enjoy the sights the country has to offer. You can go just about anywhere and see an incredible range of natural wonders you may never get to experience when traveling by car or plane, but before you set out on your first adventure, there’s a few key tips you should know to prepare yourself. Check out each one below prior to your debut outing and then get ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime – you won’t regret it!

Drive a Class C Motorhome

RVs come in all shapes and sizes, but when going on your first trip, there’s no better choice than a Class C motorhome. More compact than larger RVs, Class C motorhomes are very similar to a truck and can be much easier to drive for first-time RVers. They also offer many high-end amenities found in Class A & B motorhomes, such as lounge areas and showers – great features to ensure maximum comfort.

Stay at a Campground

Many new RVers are unfamiliar with the ins and outs of traveling via a motorhome, which makes staying at a campground a huge benefit. Many places have convenience stores and luxuries such as Wi-Fi that make RVing a little bit simpler if you’re a beginner. They also offer electric hookups to keep your RV powered throughout your stay.

Bring Storage Containers

Most RVs don’t come with a lot of storage options, which can limit the amount of space you have within the cabin. To prepare for this, bring water-tight containers you can use to store clothes and other items outside of the RV.

Cook Outside on a Propane Stove

By bringing a small propane stove along for your trip, you can cook outdoors and eliminate odors from spreading throughout the RV. It’s also a great way to spend time in your natural surroundings and shy away from typical household routines, heightening your RV experience.

Drink from Water Bottles

Preserve freshwater in the RV’s holding tank by bringing bottled drinking water. Only use the RV’s water for showering, using the toilet and doing dishes. This method saves water and lessens the chances of you running out over time.
