Ringbrothers Turn Rat Rod Winnebago into a Tailgaters Dream

You can never go wrong with a classic Winnebago, so when a 1972 Winnebago Brave popped up at this year’s Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jim and Mike Ring, owners of the custom-car shop Ringbrothers, knew they had to get their hands on it. Labeled a rat rod, the Brave was in less than stellar condition due to multiple mechanical issues, but that didn’t stop the brothers from shelling out $12,100 for the RV. They took the Winnebago back to their home of Spring Green, Wisconsin, and within a mere six months, they revitalized the Brave, turning it into a quirky party camper fit for any tailgate – pizza oven included!

Lined with wood paneling and equipped with a Mopar 318 that had seen better days, Ringbrothers’ 1972 Winnebago Brave was in need of a redesign when they scooped it off of the auction block back in January. The brothers realized this and decided to turn the RV into a project, ripping out its interior and giving it a modern twist. The result was a WWII aircraft-inspired cabin complete with bric-a-brac patterns and an electric pizza oven. A tailgate bar was also installed in the back of the RV and a TV was mounted for entertainment. Underneath the hood, a new 6.0L LS-based V-8 sits firmly, working alongside an automatic transmission from Bowler Performance. You can see more photos of the revitalized Winnebago Brave below and admire the work of Jim and Mike: the mastermind duo.
