The investment firm DA Davidson has some good news for the commercial vehicle chassis sector.

According to the firm’s Market Update Specialty Vehicles for March 2025, the availability of class 5-7 commercial truck and van chassis has improved significantly in recent months. This includes RV chassis built for Type A and Type C motorhomes.

According to the report, the 12-month period ending in January 2025 saw the production of class 5-7 truck chassis increase by about two percent from the previous year. Inventory of the chassis also increased by 15 percent during the same period, with production outpacing demand.

This is indeed good news for the RV industry, which was previously at a low point following the pandemic. The increased production is largely due to upfitters adapting to the post-pandemic market. They’ve been working to catch up on backlogged orders and improve delivery lead times.

DA Davidson’s findings could also benefit other firms such as Rev Group and Shyft Group and will likely result in good things for the RV industry overall if these trends continue.
