A recent study released by Go RVing has revealed that RV owners are now younger and more diverse than ever.

The February study found that the median age of RV owners in the United States was 49, down from 53 in 2021. The study also found that RV owners between the ages of 35 and 54 increased to 46 percent of all RV owners, which drove down the median age.

RV owners have also become more ethnically diverse. According to the initial 2021 study, 85 percent of RV owners were reported to be Caucasian. This number dropped to 73 percent just four years later.

It should be noted that RV ownership in the United States has fallen sharply since the initial 2021 study. As of February 2025, 8.1 million American households own RVs as opposed to the 11.2 million that had RVs in 2021. Still, RVing has clearly become more popular with younger and more diverse crowds, a trend that began during the pandemic and looks to continue as time goes on. According to the study, 16.9 million households expressed a strong interest in buying an RV in the next five years. The median age of these potential RV owners is 42, while 19 percent of these “Intenders” are between the ages of 18 and 34.

RVs are clearly becoming popular with a younger crowd, but RVing really is for everyone. If you’re interested in purchasing a new or used RV for your household, visit Reliable RV in Springfield, MO. Our friendly staff will be happy to assist you and help you find the perfect RV for your family.
