A recent Black Book report shows a trend shift in RV wholesale data. As RVs and motorhomes have evolved and become more popular throughout the years, the prices have also slightly increased for these beautiful motor vehicles.
The January report showed that wholesale value for RVs was mixed during the month of November in 2024, with towable values decreasing and motorhome values increasing. This is the opposite of what happened in recent months. In November, the value of motorhomes increased by 15.1 percent compared to the previous month, while the value of towable RVs decreased slightly by 4.1 percent.
The value of motorhomes overall has increased in the past year. In November 2023, motorhomes increased a little more than 15 percent in price. Meanwhile, the average price of towable motorhomes has dropped slightly in the past year which is not a big change compared to how much motorhome values went up, but it all does point to a trend of motorhomes becoming more popular overall.
According to Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principal Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence, these changes are fascinating, but industry analysts expect RV values to conform to the norm when spring gets closer.
Motorhome prices are currently closer to where they were in November, which means it may be a good time to invest in one before prices change.
