RV Cleaning Tips
To protect your investment and stay organized, you’ll need to keep your RV as clean as possible. How to best go about maintaining your RV can be difficult given its size and numerous parts. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of efficient RV cleaning tips, so you can spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying the great outdoors.
1. Always Use a Low-Pressure Washer
When it comes to washing the outside of your RV, you’ll want to steer clear of using a high-pressure washer, which can cause significant damage to the seals and cracks on your home on wheels. Instead, use a low-pressure washer; it will provide ample pressure for you to be able to give your RV’s exterior a thorough clean.
2. Purchase an RV Cleaner
Avoid using household cleaners to wash the surface of your RV, as they contain harsh additives that can cause paint and decals to chip off. Using an RV solution will help protect your RV and keep it looking sparkling new. We have a variety of them available here.
3. A Little Vinegar Helps
Adding vinegar to your cleaning solution can help prevent water streaks from developing on your RV’s exterior. It will also ensure that there are no smears left behind.
4. Use Cotton Cloths for Drying
Microfiber and polyester towels are a good way to dry off vehicles, however, this doesn’t apply for RVs. They can lead to finish damage and sealants being completely rubbed off. Instead, use a clean cotton cloth.
5. Tanks Need to be Treated
Most RVs are equipped with two tanks: one for toilet water and one for bathing. To properly keep odors at bay, enzyme-based chemicals must be used to break down solids in both tanks. We recommend having this done every other week or once a month depending on how often these tanks are used.
